Toxybind

The Toxybind®product range has been developed to reduce the absorption of mycotoxins into the animal body, to promote the excretion of mycotoxins and change their mode of action by biotransformation into significantly less toxic substances.

Mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites produced by several fungi, particularly by many species of Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penecillium, Claviceps and Alternaria. It has been estimated that at least 300 of these fungal metabolites are potentially toxic to animals and humans. The most intensively investigated mycotoxins are Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), Ochratoxin (OTA), Zearalenone (ZEN), Deoxynivalenol (DON, 'Vomitoxin'), T2 and HT-2 toxins and Fumonisins (FUM). Mycotoxins are produced by fungi, mainly during growth (est. 95%) and during storage (est. 5%) of raw materials like grains and other agricultural commodities.

The mycotoxins AFL-B2, T-2, DON and OTA have a negative effect on the immune system. This may result in decreased effectiveness of medication and increased sensitivity towards many diseases (e.g. lung diseases, laminitis, mastitis, ketosis, PIA and Circo). OTA, FUM and AFL-B1 also cause damage to many organs such as the liver, the kidneys and the pancreas. Besides that, OTA, T-2 and DON mycotoxins function as free radicals, causing damage in the digestive tract to essential amino acids, carotenoids and vitamins.  Other well-known negative effects of mycotoxins are reduced fertility, delayed sexual maturation, low conception rates, ovarian cysts and embryotic loss (mainly caused by ZEA, T-2 and DON). Most mycotoxins cause reduced feed intake and lower production results. Aflatoxin B also causes a food risk because of transition of Aflatoxin B to Aflatoxin M in milk.

The Toxybind®range supplies several unique mycotoxin protection solutions. After many years of experience in this field, as well as research, development and (in vivo + in vitro) trials, FF Chemicals has become a specialist in the field of mycotoxinbinders. The Toxybind®range is made up of 4 brands which bind, adsorb or biotransform a broader spectrum of mycotoxins with every subsequent step.

Toxybind®Basic is a specially designed binder, which adsorbs polar mycotoxins at maximum (100 %) in the stomach (pH 3) and the intestinal tract (pH 6.5). The active ingredient is registered in the European Union by EFSA for reduction of the contamination of feed by mycotoxins (category 1, functional group m, EU No. 1060/2013). The antioxidants in Toxybind®Basic have a protective effect. They protect the cells in the animal against oxidation by free radicals, prevent damage to essential nutrients and it prevents lipid peroxidation.

Toxybind®Plus is a modified mycotoxin inactivator, composed of multilayer minerals, yeast sources and anti-oxidants, which inactivates, adsorbs and binds both polar and non-polar mycotoxins at maximum: AFL B1, B2, G1, G2 (100%), OTA (95%), T-2 (77%) and ZEN (95%).

Toxybind® Premium contains - besides the active ingredients from Toxybind®Plus - also an additional combination of carefully selected herbs and plants. This unique design provides detoxification of the liver, pancreas and kindeys as well as organ repair after damage caused by mycotoxins, for all animal species. Moreover Toxybind®Premium contains several products which have a positive effect on the immune system. This product is named Toxybind Unique in some countries

Toxybind®Perfect is the last, but certainly not the least brand in the Toxybind range. Toxybind®Perfect consists of a synergistic blend of specially selected binders, enzymatic biotransformators and botanicals, in order to bind mycotoxins (AFL, FUM, OTA, T2) and to transform (DON & ZEN) in non-toxic molecules and to eliminate them from the animal body.

Trial results (in vivo and in vitro) are available upon request.
